Portofino and its Natural Park
By boat along Portofino Coast
The ferry leaves from Rapallo to get to Portofino in half an hour. Typical Ligurian fishing village with its colourful houses, is one of the most famous locations in the world . After having visited the famous “Piazzetta”, the trip continues towards S. Fruttuoso, between Camogli and Portofino, in a deep inlet along the coast. There it is possible to visit the famous Abbey dated Xth-XIth Century with the cloister, the Chapter House, the Church, the Doria tombs and the statue of the Christ. At the end of the visit the trip goes on toward Camogli, visible in the high and cloured houses facing the beach and its little old harbour. The “Monte di Portofino” represents an ideal place to make trekking excursions, thanks to the variety of vegetation and its paths overhang on the sea. The excursion can be combined with short ferry boat trips or with stops to permit the visit to cultural places, combining the sport activities with tourist and also gastronomic pleasures.
